Net exporters of cacao beans, 2012

World map showing net exporters of cacao, colored in accordance with the dollar value of exports.

This map, taken from the Harvard Center for International Development’s Atlas of Economic Complexity, shows the net exports (in USD) of whole cacao beans for the year 2012. (Source) Unfortunately, the source URL does not include one important parameter: the “Product Class” parameter needs to be set to “HS4” rather than “SITC4” to reproduce the data in this map.

A tree map view shows the same data, and there’s also a tree map of importing nations.
