The last three pies were set out on the other side of the room. Not seen in this picture, to the right, was a bowl of whipped cream I made just before the official start of the event; our tasters sure do like whipped cream — I was worried that nearly a pint of cream would make too much, but they proved me wrong. (I didn’t have anything better to do with the cream after the pie baking was over, so it made sense for me to bring it in and do this rather than buying whipped cream in a spray can.)
