I took a lot of photos of Javi as he was the reigning world champion from 2016 (an event which I watched in person and which inspired me to come to Helsinki to see this Worlds) and he was expected to make a good showing (especially against Team Orser stablemate Hanyu) after winning the short program. However, Javi fell and had other problems with his program (downgraded jumps and missed combinations), and finished in sixth overall, behind Nathan Chen and Patrick Chan.
