Some Helsinki architecture

South end of Stockmann

Like many large buildings in Finland, the Stockmann store consists of multiple adjoining structures of different ages (or at least multiple building shells of different ages). The south end of the main Stockmann store, facing the Swedish Theatre across North Esplanade, looks older and quite a bit more ornamented than the north side — and at right you can see a more modern glass-and-steel structure on the corner of Keskuskatu.
