Believe it or not, this is another Lutheran church — and also another Helsinki architectural must-see. On Lutherinkatu in the Töölö area, a short walk from the parliament building and Finlandia Hall is Temppeliaukion kirkko, also known as “The Church in the Rock”. Opened in 1969, the church was carved into the rock outcropping seen at left. The architects were Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen.
